Clay (Take-Home)

Creative tool helping 100K+ people grow their businesses through data, experimentation, and automation—powering enterprises from local pizza shops to Anthropic and Notion. The team has raised a $100M Series C in 2025 at a $3.1B valuation and are backed by world-class investors like Capital G (Google), Sequoia and Meritech.

I helped the team brainstorm ideas on how users could discover, use, create, templates for AI prompts. My designs focused on how could we enable people to:
  • Learn what the Use AI column action can do via examples in the form of Clay-provided templates
  • Discover Clay-provided and custom templates that are relevant to my use cases
  • Apply a template to a column’s configuration and try it out to see if it’s generating the correct outputs
  • Update configurations after applying a template so that they could start from something close to what they want, but customize it to their specific needs
  • Save a column configuration as a custom template (either overwriting an existing template or saving it as a new template)
  • Organize saved custom templates in a way that affords easily finding custom templates in the future
